I’ve been on an odyssey since October 28, 2010. Growing up in Japan has set the course for my friendships and perspective on life. Since moving to San Francisco, I’ve befriended people from all over the world, most of them here as language students; people from France, Germany, Switzerland, Korea, Japan, Brazil, Guyane, Saudi Arabia, and Spain. They’re vibrant, intelligent, strong and open people with hope and tremendous talent. They’ve taught me new ways to interact with others; the nuances of language and culture; the complexity and simplicity of relationships; and given over a little bit of themselves to make me a better person and experience a richer life than I’ve known before.
My friend Pedro from Brazil was in the habit of carrying a camera everywhere he went. Really, he was making memories everywhere he went.
